Reflection

Reflection on my Tinkercad design.

We were creating a product that would help people, make lives easier and solve some particular problems. My idea was to create glasses that would be suitable for 30 different sight powers. This is for people whose sight power changes and to save money, so they would not need to replace lenses each time.  First we needed to reflect on our idea overall and I’ve done a survey about how good or bad is my idea. I’ve asked 10 people in my class and most of them liked the idea. Then, we had to draw our product. My glasses can be any shape, color and I showed it on my drawing. I drew two designs. After that I was creating my glasses on Tinkercad. I’ve done only one design on Tinkercad but I did it in different colors. What I could improve is to do different designs on Tinkercad as I did on my drawings. Thrisha was doing peer evaluation for me on my design and she said that I could describe my idea more detailed on my blog and could do more detailed reflection on it. Also, as I said before, it would be better if I did more than one design on Tinkercad. Thrisha said that I could improve my Tinkercad design by adding details to it, making it look good and attractive. I’ve put huge amount of effort and time into this project. I was asking my teacher what I can do to improve it. I like the look of my final Tinkercad creation, because round shaped glasses are my favorite.

Reflection on 1st term
I have learnt a lot during this term. We started this term with learning about first printers and different types of printers. I found out how different printers work and how useful they are. Then, we made a research about 3D printing and how it is used in today’s world. It came out to be a very interesting topic and people use 3D printing a lot. Later we started exploring TinkerCAD. We started with completing basic lessons. There were five of them and they were very easy. Then, we were given pictures of designs and we were supposed to recreate them in TinkerCAD. And as we had an event Big Draw coming in our school our goal was to create something on TinkerCAD. I created a cute penguin family. It took me a while to create that project because it contained a lot of small details. After that we had a project to be done. We needed to create a product that would help people or improve our community. I came up with an idea of glasses with lenses that fit more than one sight power. This would help to save money on changing lenses every time your sight power changes. I drew pictures of how my product can look and then recreated one of them on TinkerCAD. Then we self-assessed and peer-assessed our projects and I'm happy with my results. Our next task was to create a child-friendly syringe on TinkerCAD and I created a rabbit and a carrot which is a syringe itself.
This is my first year learning IT and I really enjoy exploring technology.
